CLINICAL APPROACH

"What are your areas of expertise?"

I specialize in cardiac electrophysiology, the management of complex heart rhythm disorders. I care for patients with everything from straightforward arrhythmias all the way to highly complex conditions. My work includes catheter ablation, pacemakers and defibrillator implantation and extraction, watchman implantation and cardiac resynchronization therapy.

"How would you describe your approach to patient care?"

When patients come in, I want them to know that my team and I are going to provide care that is both comprehensive and individualistic. Heart rhythm disorders come in many different forms, and no two patients are the same. My goal — and our goal as a team — is ultimately to provide not just quantity of life, but also quality of life.

PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE & PHILOSOPHY

"What inspired you to become a cardiologist?"

The very first time I thought about becoming a doctor was in sixth grade, when I did a science fair project on the cardiovascular system. That project came from my mom, who is a nurse. She raised me and my two brothers as a single mom, working incredibly hard, and I grew up hearing about patient care throughout my entire childhood. Her work ethic and her career in healthcare were a huge inspiration to me. I combined that influence with my specific interest in the heart, and a path toward cardiology felt natural from there.

"What's one thing you want patients to know about you as a provider?"

I want patients to know that they will always receive individualized care. Heart rhythm disorders exist on a wide spectrum, and I take the time to understand where each patient is in their health journey so we can find the right approach for them specifically — not just a one-size-fits-all solution.

"What do you enjoy in your free time?"

I'm married with four children, and we are a very active family. We love being outside, traveling, playing sports and rooting on our local teams. Having my kids grow up here in this close-knit community — and being part of its future — is something I find incredibly important and satisfying.
