CLINICAL APPROACH

"What are your areas of expertise?"

I specialize in cardiac electrophysiology — the management of heart rhythm disorders. My areas of expertise include lead extraction, complex catheter ablations, and pacemaker and ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) implantationand management. I care for patients across the full spectrum of arrhythmias, from straightforward palpitations all the way to highly complex conditions requiring advanced intervention.

"How would you describe your approach to patient care?"

When I see patients, I like to discuss all of the options available and really let them make the decision. I can help guide patients toward what I think is best, but I believe very strongly in shared decision-making. Patients come in with a wide range of symptoms — things as simple as palpitations or feeling extra beats, to more serious concerns like passing out, extreme fatigue, or leg swelling. No matter what brings them in, my goal is to make sure they understand their condition and feel empowered in their care.

PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE & PHILOSOPHY

"What inspired you to pursue medicine?"

I was drawn to medicine by a combination of wanting to help others in a meaningful way and a deep interest in science, particularly human physiology. I have always been fascinated by how the body works—both the complexity and simplicity of its various systems. At the same time, I valued opportunities to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. Medicine uniquely brings those two passions together, allowing me to apply scientific understanding to real-world problems while supporting patients through some of their most vulnerable moments. That combination of intellectual engagement and human connection ultimately made medicine the right path for me.

"What drew you to electrophysiology specifically?"

I was drawn to cardiac electrophysiology because it merges high-stakes clinical care and rapidly advancing technology. The heart is uniquely unforgiving—its rhythm is fundamental to life, and even small disruptions can have immediate and serious consequences.

At the same time, electrophysiology as a field is in a state of constant innovation. The ability to diagnose and treat arrhythmias using sophisticated mapping systems, catheter-based therapies, and implantable devices reflects a powerful marriage between physiology and technology. I find it especially rewarding to combine a deep understanding of cardiac electrophysiology with cutting-edge tools that can precisely target and treat disease.

Ultimately, electrophysiology offers the opportunity to make a direct, often dramatic difference in patients’ lives while engaging with some of the most advanced and dynamic aspects of modern medicine—that combination is what drew me to the field.

"What do you enjoy outside of medicine?"

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife and our two small children love spending time outdoors whether that be hiking, athletics, or water sports. We are very engaged in our community and support various local charitable organizations.
